Preamble

AvRM is organizing a one-day training course on November 14, 2026 dedicated to electronics and more specifically to the RM navigation system.

It takes place near Nantes - in La Chapelle-sur-Erdre at the Westotel Nantes Atlantique premises - and is hosted by Julien Rabeux of AvRM.

Content

Onboard electronics are becoming increasingly sophisticated and powerful, but also complex, so that poor installation or failure can have a serious impact, even compromising safety.
This training aims to provide knowledge of technologies (serial connections, NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, etc.) and an understanding of how different systems operate. This will allow you to better understand your system, optimize it, and get more out of it. A troubleshooting method will also be shared.
It is not possible to address the specific case of each brand and each of its software programs, but at the end of this training, you will have acquired the basics allowing you to be more autonomous with the help of the manual.

This training program is new, and to best meet your needs, we invite those interested to share their concerns and expectations with us. We can then tell you if the course will address them. To this end, the registration process is structured in two stages:

• Provisional registration to discuss the content (green button below) - Deadline August 15th so that the trainer can then prepare their materials
• Final registration upon payment of the registration fee - Deadline October 1st to secure the room reservation

Registration process

Your registration for this course is conditional upon payment of the 2026 membership fee for each participant (double membership fee for participating couples)

• The individual registration fee is set at €75.
• The registration form will ask if you are willing to offer a ride, particularly between Nantes train station and the Westotel.
• You will also be asked about your training expectations so that Julien Rabeux can prepare the elements that interest you.

• Registration for this AvRM workshop is a binding commitment. In case of cancellation, a refund is not guaranteed. Any refund will be determined by a compromise between the workshop organizer and AvRM, and will depend on the availability of a replacement.

Payment

• Do not pay anything upon registration. You will be contacted by the treasurer or the organizer who will provide you with the association's IBAN and invite you to make the payment exclusively by bank transfer.
• Registration is final once payment has been received by the treasurer.
