Who are we ?

AvRM is the RM Sailboat Association , founded in 2006 by a group of RM sailboat enthusiasts, primarily from the Breton maritime community. It currently has over 460 members across France, a few European RM owners, and 300 RM sailboats of all sizes and colors. Passion

Passion

The story of the genesis of RM is fascinating and probably little known.

Without going into detail, it all began in the late seventies, first with the launch at the Rameau d'Etel shipyard of the Trebez, the prototype of the RM 900, and the construction a few years later in a garden in the city of Rouen, by Bruno Devrièse, of an extension of a few percent of the initial Trebez which Bruno would call the Benthosaure.

As a student and friend of Bruno during those years, I could tell you much more, but that is not the immediate topic.

With this letter, I wanted to share with you a short text by Dominique Paulet, my father, the designer of these amazing sailboats, written quite a few years ago, which clearly explains the genesis of the Trebez, Benthosaure, and then RM concept. I'm sure it will interest passionate RM enthusiasts.
