Diesel Mechanic Training 2026

Generalities

AvRM is organizing a two-day training course on diesel mechanics on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2026 , at Lorient la Base.

Address: Escale Formation Technique Navigators Training Center

  • Denis Papin open area - BSM 56100 Lorient

Hours : 9 a.m. / 5 p.m.

Lunch will be taken together at the Base restaurant.

Accommodation is the responsibility of the members participating in the training course

What will you learn during this session?

  • Your boat's engine is a technical component within your reach , regardless of your technical background.
  • You will now practice " maintenance driving " rather than passively waiting for a breakdown.
  • Your training in practical emergency procedures at sea will bring you essential safety and peace of mind.

The practical exercises are conducted on engine test benches and emphasize the technical realities encountered at sea by the captain.

Please bring your technical manual and photos of your engine so we can answer your questions accurately.

What I need to bring

  • A camera, my engine technical manual if I have it
  • photos of my mechanical setup
  • a notepad
  • EFT is committed to providing a training manual so that you can leave with a basic understanding of the training content. You can supplement it with your personal notes.

The internship isn't very dirty, but it's best to choose sturdy, close-fitting clothing (to avoid getting caught on rotating mechanical parts).
