Generalities
The AvRM Mediterranean Rally 2025 headed this year to Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, from May 29 to June 9.
Participants
Nine boats participated: 1 RM 890, 1 RM 970, 1 RM 1050, 3 RM 1070, 1 RM 1180, 1 RM 1200 & 1 RM 1260.

The route
The start was in Port Vendres, then the rally followed the Spanish coast to El Estartit, crossed to the Bay of Pollensa, went down along the south-east coast of Majorca, with a majestic stopover in Cabrera, and ended in Palma de Mallorca.

The sequence
Thursday, May 29
- The RMs gradually gathered in Port Vendres, and on May 29th, in the presence of all the crews, the first briefing took place.

Friday, May 30
- Group departure towards Cala Guillola, and second briefing (the first of all AvRM rallies on a… naturist beach!)

Saturday, May 31
- Navigation to El Estartit, and new briefing

Sunday, June 1st,
- Bad news: Jean Pierre, a regular participant in the Mediterranean Rally, has been struck by a severe and very painful viral attack and has to withdraw. It is with heavy hearts that we set off for Majorca, leaving him behind. The crossing takes place in idyllic conditions, with winds of 9 to 15 knots, sailing between close-hauled and beam reach.

- And the boats arrive almost all together in Pollensa Bay, in the northwest of the island.

Tuesday, June 3
- The stage towards Cala Ratjada gives rise to numerous performance comparisons.

- At the port, traditional line-up of RM boats and briefing on pizzas and especially sangria from Rêve De Mer and special bottles of Mate!

Unfortunately, during the stage, Olivier suffered a serious ankle injury, and it was during this briefing that we learned that the rally was over for Pantaï… Unanimously, all the participants decided to stay one more day to help him organize and try to support him.
Thursday, June 5
- Departure for Cabrera, the highlight of the rally. We obtained permission from the nature reserve; it's a magnificent and very protected place, where we were also able to hold a proper tapas briefing at the island's only inn, which offered us a truly regal setting!

Friday, June 6
- Departure for Porto Petro, a beautiful cove with a charming little port, and of course, a briefing on the beach.
Saturday, June 7
- Last anchorage at Colonia Di San Jordi.
Sunday, June 8
- Arrival in Palma de Mallorca, on the pontoons of the Real Club Nautic Palma, and end-of-rally dinner

Conclusion
Exceptionally favorable weather, with consistently steady but rather light winds, which favored boats of recent generation (and lighter...)
Nevertheless, even on the crossing the gaps between all the boats were small, we never had to wait for a straggler (no doubt due to the appeal of the almost daily briefings…)
All stages were mostly completed under sail, and resulted in fiercely contested tacks.
A very important rally in terms of the number of participants, always marked by good humor, camaraderie, and solidarity, even in the more challenging moments. Our thoughts are, of course, with those who had to interrupt their adventure.
Wind, sun, good times both at stopovers and at sea!
