Sauzon 2024

Generalities

AVRM organised a gathering of RMs in Sauzon (Belle-Île-en-Mer) on 21 and 22 September 2024


Program

Saturday, September 21

  • Arrival at the port of Sauzon in the late afternoon in the dry dock
  • Seafood potluck from 6pm on the pontoons
  • Dinner at the restaurant around 8pm at the "Le Cardinal" hotel restaurant

Sunday, September 22

Program subject to change depending on the weather

  • Departure from the port from 8am
  • Flotilla sailing to the Island of Houat for anchoring and picnic on the beach (Treach ar Gourhed)


Security

  • Safety rules and boat equipment for coastal navigation must be respected.
  • AIS is recommended (at least for receiving).
  • Navigation remains the sole responsibility of the skipper.

Thirteen RMs met on September 20th in the tidal harbor at Sauzon. The last eight joined the group on the evening of September 21st for a seaside get-together held on the eastern breakwater of the harbor.

At 8pm, dinner at Le Cardinal restaurant for a vegetarian buffet. Return to the port around 11pm.

Boat trip to Houat on Sunday morning. A number of boats had to return to their home port due to the weather forecast for the following Monday and Tuesday.


Weather report

Very unsettled weather with thunderstorms and heavy rain during thunderstorms. Fortunately, the worst of the storm passed unscathed. Light northeasterly winds on Friday and Saturday, shifting in all directions on Sunday.
