We cast off the moorings
We cast off on June 14, 2013 after sealing up the house.
We boarded our small dinghy from Locmiquel beach and headed for Sauzon to change an anode and touch up the paint on the hull. I'm a little sad to leave home, our friends, our children and grandchildren, but it's decided, we're going sailing.
The weather being less than ideal with a constant south-westerly wind, we prefer to stay in the area while waiting for more favorable conditions.
Our program is not yet finalized, but we have decided to go south to discover new horizons and meet new people.
Our boat Meggy II, pictured here in front of Fort Cigogne, in the Glénan Islands… will be our faithful companion on the road. We've replaced all the rigging cables, had the engine serviced, and prepared the boat down to the smallest detail.
Admire the beautiful blue sky of Brittany!!!
