Around the Baltic Sea on Blackbird 2018

1

Preamble

Blackbird overwintered in the small port of Greifswald on the German Baltic Sea coast during the winters of 2017 and 2018.

During the summer of 2018, I toured the Baltic Sea, starting in Germany, then Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and back to Greifswald. The stopovers remain unforgettable memories, with medieval towns, castles, charming little ports, and a festive atmosphere everywhere in the summer.

Some precautions to take when sailing in the Baltic Sea as it is a shallow and very crowded sea, wind farms, military exercise areas, ferries crossing in all directions at 30 knots, fishing boats, and many pleasure craft.

Here is Blackbird's route.
