20 YEARS IN PORT CAMARGUE
2026 North Brittany Coast Rally
AvRM turned 20 on January 22, 2026, and it's doing well.
Since its creation, it has enhanced the pleasure of sailing in the RM, much to the delight of its members, who remain wonderfully young because:

To celebrate this event, the Bureau organised two gatherings in September:
- In Port-Haliguen from September 11th to 13th
- At Port-Camargue on September 19th and 20th
This report covers the Port Camargue gathering
The participants
In the end, there were 9 boats, with the RM 1070 Pantai absent due to medical reasons, but Olivier and Hélène are with us in spirit.
We were delighted to have Matteo Rossi, former president of AvRM, Alain Place, our treasurer, and Guy Boussand and Dominique, former board members, who came especially for the occasion!
Here is the list of participants: 9 boats and 30 sailors

Friday the 18th
The Port Camargue harbor master's office released the reception pontoon to us by Friday noon, allowing us to settle in and meet up. Only the two 11.80m boats, which are too wide, are moored on a pontoon a little further away.
The evening aperitif, brought out from the galleys, takes place at the Spot, a location provided by the port. The convivial atmosphere isn't just due to the summer weather…
Saturday 19
The harbor master's office had requested that we only move after the start of the regatta organized by the Nautical Society, in order to avoid interference.
So it was around 10 a.m. that the group set off across the water towards Maguelone beach, in a wind of 10 to 13 knots, easing to 8 to 10 knots.
Everyone has lunch on the boats, in front of the ruins of Maguelone Cathedral, which was declared by Pope Urban II "the second church of Christendom".
At 3:17 PM, Cécile launched the return leg under spinnaker, in a thermal wind of 13 to 15 knots. A protest was lodged, some having perhaps anticipated the start… The jury deliberated in public over drinks and excellent sangria prepared by Gérard from Rêve De Mer.
Dinner began with the distribution of commemorative plaques created by Didier Drouaud, and goodies offered by SILLAGE (in particular the RM bags), distributor of RM products in the Mediterranean. Then came the charcuterie boards and a gargantuan paella, and finally, a fougasse from Aigues-Mortes.
Some participants are dancing, but it's clear that those on welfare are more adept at turning the winches than their partners…
The discussions continued late into the night.
Sunday 20
The participants meet up upon waking, before separating, each returning to their home port.
We would like to thank the Port Camargue Harbour Master's Office and the teams on the water, who perfectly managed the mooring of the fleet at the stopover quay, as well as the provision of the Club House, Sillage who offered us the goodies, not forgetting Chef Bernard, our excellent caterer.
