2026 North Brittany Coast Rally
AvRM turned 20 on January 22, 2026, and it's doing well.
Since its creation, it has enhanced the pleasure of sailing in the RM, much to the delight of its members, who remain wonderfully young because:

To celebrate this event, the Bureau organised two gatherings in September:
- In Port-Haliguen from September 11th to 13th
- At Port-Camargue on September 19th and 20th
This report covers the gathering at Port-Haliguen.
The participants
In the end we were 30 boats after the RM 1050 Titangris withdrew due to the closure of the Arzal dam and the RM 890 l'Eliobrigus due to engine failure, but their crews found a way to join the party.
Here is the list of participants: 30 boats and 100 sailors

Friday the 11th
The boats gather in the Mané basin during the afternoon, warmly welcomed and placed by the Port Haliguen harbour master's team.
From 6pm onwards, despite the absence of a few brave souls still on the delivery route, everyone opens their galley for a potluck dinner on the pontoon.
Saturday 12
An early start so everyone could leave the marina before it closed at 9:00 am. Beautiful sunshine and mild temperatures. The wind was already light at the start and then died down, but most reached Houat Bay at a reasonable hour for lunch and a swim.
At 2:30 p.m., with the first stirrings of the thermal wind, the fleet takes the road back because we have to be at the Yacht Club of Quiberon by 7 p.m., where a great team of volunteers is already busy preparing to welcome us.
After the aperitif, the musicians take their places on stage to liven up the evening and provide musical entertainment during dinner:
- First, we listen to the MOD'all trio, led by Daniel, our secretary/webmaster: Baroque music from the 17th and 18th centuries and Irish music with a rock twist. Chantal on the diatonic accordion, Martial on bass, and Daniel on mandolin.
- Then there's Maxime, the skipper of the RM 900 Anouman, who commands admiration as a gypsy jazz guitarist and singer.
- And finally Guillaume Yaouank, a professional artist, who delights us as much with his sea shanties as with his charisma as an entertainer.
Meanwhile, Didier Drouot is finishing the distribution of the commemorative plaque he created for this occasion.
Sunday 13
After a calmer end to the night, the RM boats left the basin before its 9:30 AM closing time to begin their return journey under motor. Unfortunately, the wind didn't pick up until the afternoon...
We would like to thank the Port-Haliguen harbourmaster's office and their teams on the water, who perfectly managed the mooring of the fleet in the Mané basin, and the Quiberon Yacht Club for the quality of its welcome and the efficiency of its volunteers during dinner on Saturday evening!
