I was thinking about force air heating on my 1070, possibly Autoterm as they are cheap https://shop.autoterm.com/ might be a false economy?
I was researching drilling through bulkheads as i am nervous about the structural implications. I came across this on a cruiser forum https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f5 ... 70878.html if you scroll down to Captain Bruce M he gives some good advice about drilling through bulkheads. Still not sure if I will go for air or water but will check the possibilities when we are finally allowed to go back to our boats due to lockdown.

Hello,
I agree with you, drilling a structural part is not so nice but: I was previously working in ship building and drilling structural elements to route piping was normal use. But at the end you must recover the strengthness so you do this by double plating. We discuss about this item on the forum for extra fresh water tanks https://rm-asso.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3015#p20847
Best regards.

Hi Nick,
I am in the process of mulling over my options to deal with a faulty Webasto Thermo Top C on a 1070 (leaking heat exchanger and faulty circuit board). The pipe installation to move the water about the boat is neat and I can take some photos when I am next there if you like. The Webasto spares are very expensive so as well as the Autotherm I was also considering replacing with one from here https://mvheating.co.uk . Mark

Hi Mark, I hadn't come across MV Heating, thank you for the link. If you get chance a couple of photos would be helpful. Hopefully we should be back at our boats soon. All the best. Nick

Here you go Nick. The pictures shown are stringers rather than bulkheads but the same approach has been taken when the pipes pass through bulkheads. This was fitted by RM and obviously takes a different approach to that outlined in your link. That said, all look good and there is not sign of any cracking around any of the holes. Let me know if you have any other questions. Mark
